Registered Nurse II | UCSF Health

Enaanake Di Stefano

Enaanake “E” Di Stefano, BSN, RN, is a Registered Nurse II on the adult transplant unit at UCSF Medical Center. Alongside bedside nursing, she has been involved in evidence-based practice initiatives, the UCSF Clinical Inquiry Council, nursing governance, and leadership programs, including the UCSF CNO Cabinet. Her work through the Clinical Inquiry Council has included exploring the thoughtful integration of Artificial Intelligence into nursing practice, evidence-based care, and healthcare innovation.

Through the UCSF Center for Global Nursing and the Global Nursing Scholars Program, E. recently participated in a clinical experience in Eldoret, Kenya, focused on cross-cultural collaboration, systems learning, and pediatric dialysis care. During the experience, she developed an ongoing collaborative partnership with Rose Njogu, focusing on efforts to reduce Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) rates among pediatric dialysis and transplant patients.

The Global Nursing Scholars Program encouraged E. to think more critically about cultural humility, sustainable partnerships, and the role nurses can play in improving healthcare globally. Her experience in Kenya reinforced the importance of humility, adaptability, and collaboration, and highlighted how meaningful learning can happen through strong partnerships and shared goals across healthcare settings. While continuing her work at UCSF, in August 2026, Enaanake will enter a MSN/MBA dual degree program in Organizational Leadership at Johns Hopkins University. E. hopes to further develop her healthcare leadership and systems transformation skills while continuing to integrate bedside nursing, leadership development, healthcare innovation, and global collaboration with partners locally and internationally.

We are honored to recognize Enaanake Di Stefano for her dedication to advancing nursing excellence through evidence-based practice, global collaboration, and healthcare innovation, as well as her commitment to improving patient outcomes and strengthening sustainable partnerships across healthcare settings.
