Register for CGN's Introduction to Cultural Humility Course on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

CGN’s Introduction to Cultural Humility Course is now open to all nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (NPs, CNMs, CRNAs, PAs), and clinicians at UCSF and globally from any clinical area or specialty who are interested in equity, antiracism, or culturally responsive care, whether or not they are participating in CGN’s global programs. Three CEs will be awarded after course completion.

Course Highlights

This highly interactive, three-hour live virtual session featuring breakout discussions, reflection prompts, and scenario-based learning is designed to strengthen skills in cultural humility.

  • Deepen your understanding of how cultural humility differs from cultural competence.

  • Explore how power, privilege, and structural inequities shape clinical and partnership interactions.

  • Examine personal biases and assumptions and their impact on communication, teamwork, and patient care.

  • Apply cultural humility principles to real-world clinical and partnership scenarios through strategies such as active listening and shared decision-making.

  • Sharpen your ability to identify actionable practices that promote equitable, mutually beneficial collaborations in both local and global contexts.

  • Expand your toolkit for enhancing cross-cultural collaboration, reducing power imbalances, and fostering more respectful, inclusive partnerships in global nursing.
