At the UCSF Center for Global Nursing, we are deeply grateful for our community of nurses and advanced practice providers (APPs) who, through their leadership, scholarship, and partnerships, continue to advance health equity and strengthen nursing across diverse communities around the globe.
Through education, research, partnerships, and community, CGN has reached important milestones, deepened global collaborations, and advanced our shared vision of a world where nurses lead the future of global health. The Center for Global Nursing is incredibly proud of our members and the impact we have made together.
Over the past fiscal year, the CGN community:
✨ Advanced nursing and health equity initiatives in 55+ countries across five continents through scholarly collaborations, strategic partnerships, Travel Awards, and the Global Nursing Research Seed Award.
✨ Launched the Global Nursing Internship Program, connecting 16 interns from five countries with principal investigators in Kenya, Tanzania, and the United States.
✨ Hosted 10 Global Nursing Impact Series events, amplifying the voices, innovations, and leadership of nurses and APPs worldwide.
✨ Led the second cohort of the 12-week Certificate in Global Nursing, bringing together 36 scholars from seven countries and a distinguished faculty of 22 UCSF and global nursing leaders representing 11 countries.
✨ Facilitated the second cohort of the Clinical Global Scholars Program, where 20 nurses and APPs from UCSF and Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya, partnered to co-lead context-specific, sustainable quality improvement projects.
✨ Equipped 130 nurses and APPs across UCSF and global partner institutions with the skills and tools to practice cultural humility and foster more equitable, respectful partnerships.
✨ Strengthened nursing education and healthcare systems globally by supporting the launch of Sub-Saharan Africa’s first Perioperative Nursing Certificate Course in Tanzania, Tonga’s first Global Nursing Quality Improvement Fellowship, pediatric emergency initiatives in Laos, and critical care nursing training programs in Uganda.
None of this would be possible without the dedication, expertise, and commitment of our CGN members, partners, scholars, and supporters. Thank you for being part of this journey and for contributing to a growing global community dedicated to advancing nursing leadership, education, and health equity.
